Algarobbo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We headed into town in the morning and I put my laundry in.\u00a0 We also spent a little while looking for a clinic, doctor or dentist.\u00a0 This was as, about two days after being assaulted in Wanaka, I developed a strange solid lump in my mouth.\u00a0 Since then it hasn\u00b4t gone down and I vary from thinking I have a fractured jaw to not actually thinking about it at all.\u00a0 It\u00b4s something I guess I will get checked out at some point but, as it doesn\u00b4t really actually hurt now, it doesn\u00b4t feel like a priority to take time out of traveling and pay a lot of money to have someone tell me about it in a language that I don\u00b4t understand that they don\u00b4t know what it is.\u00a0 Anyway, we didn\u00b4t find anywhere and instead headed to Isla Negra.\u00a0 Isla Negra was a lovely place with some really nice artisan stalls.\u00a0 There were also some rather less nice pieces akin to those found in places in Blackpool.\u00a0 You know the whole sea shells stuck together to look like a penguin with Blackpool written on the bottom in biro type jobbies?\u00a0 Except in this case obviously they didn\u00b4t say Blackpool but Isla Negra.\u00a0 Along with being a lovely place Isla Negra is famous for being one of the places that Pablo Neruda chose to call home.\u00a0 Neruda was a Chilean poet who is hugely respected here and there are various museums and the like around the country.\u00a0 We ate lunch in a place where he used to stay which was lovely with amazing ocean views.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After buying Mum a few Birthday pressies we headed back to Pao Pao in Algarobbo and the llamas, played some bridge, had supper and supped wine.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The following day we collected my laundry and used the free internet in the library.\u00a0 We decided to head up the coast slightly but the road we had chosen was closed and apparently could be so for some time.\u00a0 We decided to head to Penulela National Park instead which was a park around a large dammed lake.\u00a0 That is right rather than damned lake, which is what I was thinking isn\u00b4t it?\u00a0 Not that I\u00b4m thinking anything negative about the lake you understand, it\u00b4s just that dammed looks a bit strange to me having typed it.\u00a0 Okay, so we went to the lake place with a dam, oh, I should have just done it like that in the first place.\u00a0 It was really lovely, although you could hear the motoway noise in parts.\u00a0 There were fun tracks to drive though and a llama, or other camelid wandering about.\u00a0 There was also plentiful birdlife as always.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After the darned lake we headed back to Algarobbo where we had a great meal in a lovely restaurant frequented by locals.\u00a0 Having packed and cleaned the van we sat by the swimming pool (which we had somehow previously managed not to discover) and sipped Gin and Tonics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We headed into town in the morning and I put my laundry in.\u00a0 We also spent a little while looking for a clinic, doctor or dentist.\u00a0 This was as, about two days after being assaulted in Wanaka, I developed a strange solid lump in my mouth.\u00a0 Since then it hasn\u00b4t gone down and I vary [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[1],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.zelmastrip.com\/wordpress\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/161"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.zelmastrip.com\/wordpress\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.zelmastrip.com\/wordpress\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.zelmastrip.com\/wordpress\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.zelmastrip.com\/wordpress\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=161"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.zelmastrip.com\/wordpress\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/161\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.zelmastrip.com\/wordpress\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=161"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.zelmastrip.com\/wordpress\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=161"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.zelmastrip.com\/wordpress\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=161"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
